We act as their representatives and are thus expected to react to any events, which may impact the client’s business, on the vessels we attend. We always expected to take the best course of action, which will likely involve alerting those individuals at our clients who are responsible for the affected area of operation. This would be the operations desk (e.g. Crude, Fuel or Products desks).
